Loads of fun

Happy Monday!  It's time for another challenge at Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges!  This week, our challenge is:

For the Boys

This was a fun one! My projects tend toward the girly side of things, so this made me look through my cartridges for cuts that I might not necessarily gravitate toward initially, which can lead to so much inspiration.  I decided that this was a perfect challenge for the B is for Boy cartridge, and then picked out this dump truck.  I had gotten this "Diamond Plate" embossing folder for Christmas, which was a perfect fit.  I used gray cardstock to make it look like the silver plates I usually see this pattern on when I go to the hardware store with my husband.  To finish it off, I put some ribbon along the bottom that reminded me of a street.  :)

Since I don't really have any sentiment stamps that would go with this card, I made my own using Lawn Fawn's "Harold's ABCs."

Are you feeling inspired?  Head over to Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges and see the masculine inspiration that the rest of the Design Team has for you, and then make a project of your own for the boys.  :)

Get Well Wishes

Today I have a "Get Well" card to share.  It's just a regular A2 card, with patterned paper from Recollections.  I put a green ribbon around the top to compliment the green in the pattern.  The bandage was cut at 2.5 inches from B is for Boy.  I popped it up on foam adhesive, and then added the felt star (which I can't remember where I got it from) on another foam square.

The sentiment on the bottom is from my new "Alphadot" set from Paper Smooches.  It was so fun to stamp with!

Surprise!

This card is out of this world!  For this A2 card, I cut the card on black cardstock.  The moon on the bottom was hand cut by me and then I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Lifestyle Crafts Polka Dots folder.  This is the debossed side.  I cut both the alien and the spaceman at 3 inches.  The spaceman is from Life's a Party and the alien is from B is for Boy.

The sentiment is stamped in white Brilliance ink using the Hobby Lobby "Everyday Expressions" stamp set.

Just a note: the entire time I was making this card, I was singing "I don't want to live on the moon," and old Sesame Street song that Ernie used to sing.  Sweet memories.

Wild Thing

This card can be used for pretty much any occasion.  I thought I would make a kind of generic, boy card.  I cut the zebra from B is for Boy.  I didn't use the shift image of the main image, because I wanted his mane and stripes to be the same color black.  I wanted him to be simple.  I used some checkered background paper from my stash and some red from my scraps.  The sentiment was stamped with Lawn Fawn's Jessie's ABCs.  I pulled a red button out of my button container and it was ready to go!

I'll be entering this into the following challenge:

Monkey card

As soon as I saw that that the Cricut Lite cartridges "B is for Boy" and "Sugar and Spice" had matching little sock monkeys, I knew that I must have them, and I must make another card for my sister, because she made herself a real sock monkey (she's the sewer in the family.  I think she even has a sewing machine.)  Of course, when I bought them, these monkeys were the first cuts that I made from each cartridge.  The boy monkey with the red hat is from "B is for Boy" and the girl with the pink hat is from "Sugar and Spice."

I pulled a few scraps of orange striped paper (from the Paper Studio pack Back to the Basics) to accent the purple cardstock.  I had this orange bow from an old card making pack that I got from the Target dollar bin, which covered up the seam between the two pieces of paper.  The bow is flatter in person...this picture doesn't really do it justice.

I'm so happy with this card, and I'm excited to see what other creations I can come up with from this cartridge.  My husband teased me that these were "baby" cartridges, and since there are no babies up in here I have to prove to him that I can use them for real projects beyond just using the sock monkeys once.
