PB&J

Good news!   Today starts another challenge at Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges!  Our theme for this challenge is Friendship.   Make any project that has to do with friendship!

Today's card is a little different for me!  I've been frequenting some SVG websites because as much as I love my Cricuts, I'm saving up for a Silhouette Cameo and I like the freebies that they often have.  I was so excited when I saw this PB&J freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables back in January.  Because I don't quite have my Cameo yet, I printed the images out and hand cut around them.  I love the idea of the best friends as peanut butter and jelly!

I also used a printed sentiment.  I cut around it, matted it on yellow paper, and put yellow mini brads in each corner.  I used some washi tape mounted on white paper as an embellishment behind the friends.

Now it's your turn!  Create a project about friendship and link it up to play with us at Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Baby Shower

I made this card for a baby shower for a friend from church.

I decided to make this card with the little baby sleeping on the cloud.  I cut her bow and onsie in pink, which meant that pink on the background might have been too much.  I decided that light purple was just right for the patterned paper and the strip that I put the stamp on.  I used Lawn Fawn stamps (Jessie's ABCs) to stamp the sentiment.  Her nose cut too small, so I just outlined it with a clear gel pen.

A tip: When I cut the girl from Baby Steps, I wanted the picture to almost fill the card.  I cut the main image at 4 inches to start with, and it made the baby 4 inches!  I forgot that the size you set goes with the main image, and since in this case the baby is the main image and the moon doesn't show up until Layer 2, it goes by how big the baby is.  I ended up switching to cutting it at about 2 inches and it fit on the card perfectly.

...and I started a third scrapbook for my dog

Here's the title page for Sophie's third scrapbook.  Yes, it's my dog's third in her series of scrapbooks.  The photo was an Instagram photo I took of Sophie sleeping in my scrapbook room while I worked one day.  I used some cardstock for the background and a piece from the DCWV Pet Stack for the paw print paper.  The three diecuts are from Deja Views Dog Days pack.

In the bottom corner, I used an embellishment from Little Yellow Bicycle.  It originally said "10 things I love about My Life."  I loved the colors, and so I got it and so I made a new black pennant to cover up the words "My Life" and then cut the words "My Dog" out in white cardstock using Doodletype.  Then I wrote 10 reasons why I love Sophie on the tabs!

Fun with sprays

I got a super fun package of spray mists in the mail a few weeks ago, and I decided I wanted to play with them a little.  I got out an old shoebox to use as my spray box and it works really well.  Then I cut four silhouettes out from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and used some temporary adhesive that I had bought for something at work to attach them onto a sheet of 3.5 inch square white cardstock.

Next, I sprayed each cardstock with one of the colors of mist.  I sprayed the pink and green twice, but the blue and purple went on pretty well in one spray.  Then I just cut out pieces of matching cardstock in 3.75 inch squares and four white 4 inch square cards and adhered them all together. What a fun intro to spray mists!

An update...

Remember last fall when I was planning to move and then it fell through?  Well, it looks like this time our house is really going to be sold- we're supposed to be moving next week!  That means that I am spending today packing up my beloved craft supplies into boxes.  You don't realize how much you have until you have to pack it into boxes!!

Anyway, we'll be moving some stuff into storage this coming week, and then actually moving the rest next week, and then it will probably take me a few days to get myself situated in my new crafting space/office.  We're moving into an apartment until we can find our "dream house," so I have to share the second bedroom with the office supplies.  :)  While I'm packing and unpacking, I won't be able to make any new creations for challenges like I usually do, but don't worry- I have plenty of saved up posts that I'll be scheduling for you until I am back to being able to craft.

Happy birthday polaroid

I recently got the beautiful Freckled Fawn "Cloud and Hearts" washi tape and it inspired me to make this card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog birthday challenge.  I wanted a pretty plain background, so I went with a kraft card with pink cardstock and then more kraft cardstock layered on top.  I stamped the polaroid, hearts, and clouds from the Lily Bee stamps Persnickety set.  I cut around the polaroid and put the blue paper behind it.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABCs.

I did adhere the polaroid down with regular adhesive, but I also put a strip of my inspiration washi along the top of the polaroid.

Tell a joke!

In our house growing up, one of the most- shall we say "well loved"- jokes was this one.  When I saw that Fantabulous Cricut was having a "tell a joke" challenge, I immediately wanted to use it.  I used a blue card base and some patterned paper from the KI Memories Classics stack.  The cheese is from Create a Critter.  The sentiments were printed on my printer, and then I cut them out with my paper trimmer (the banner shape I just cut by hand).  I added a few blue buttons in the top corner for a little embellishment.

I'm entering this card into the following challenge:

Fantabulous Cricut- April Fools (tell a joke)
Craftin Desert Divas- Cute as a Button
