School Days

I was browsing through my 3 Birds on Parade handbook the other day and noticed this sweet little bird, getting ready for school.  I thought he'd make a cute back to school card.  I cut him at 3 1/2 inches and the phrase at 1 inch.  The background paper is from All Seasons 2 by Paper Studio.

After I had the bird and sentiment on the page, I thought something was still missing.  I just got some brads that were the same color as the paper I used for the sentiment and his wing, so I thought I would give it a try.  It's hard!   It's hard to get the brads on straight, and to keep the paper adhered around the bumpiness underneath.  I think I'm going to need some more practice on brads, but I'm excited to see what they can add to my cards. :)

I am entering this card into the following challenge:

  5. Cute card, love the papers. I used to have trouble with brads as well. You might try turning the project over and taking something flat and pressing down on the brad "wings" if you know what I mean. Thanks for playing along with us at My Sheri Crafts!

  6. What a cute little bird! I've run in to the same problem with brads if I have them very close to the edge. Thanks for joining us at My Sheri Crafts!
